Registered Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy – where the body is relaxed through manual manipulation of the muscles and soft tissues – is for patients of all ages. There are tremendous benefits to be achieved through regular Massage Therapy treatments including relaxation, reduced muscle tension, and relief from chronic pain. A therapeutic massage can also enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being.

Massage Therapy can help:
What to expect during a massage?
Your Massage Therapist will ask preliminary questions to determine your overall health and your health and wellness goals. The Massage Therapist will consider information about your physical condition, medical history, lifestyle, stress levels, medications and any areas of physical pain, and structure your session accordingly, and in a way that will achieve your health and wellness goals.
Before your massage, you’ll be asked to remove clothing to your level of comfort (the therapist will leave the room while you undress). You will then lie on the massage table, underneath the provided sheet or towel, which will cover your body throughout your treatment except for the part being massaged.
Depending on your needs, the massage therapist will massage either the full body (except private areas) or only specific areas that need attention, such as especially tight muscles.
Your Massage Therapist will check on pressure and comfort throughout your appointment. If you’re uncomfortable at any time, tell your therapist.
Massage Therapists often use oil or lotion. If you’re allergic to oils or lotions, tell your therapist beforehand. Music might be played. If you find music distracting, tell your Massage Therapist. The same goes for talking during your session.
After your massage, the Massage Therapist will allow you to slowly get up and get dressed in privacy. Massage could leave you a bit sore the next day, but keep in mind, that that is normal. An Epsom salt bath is advised and drinking lots of water. Some stretches may also be given for home care.
What is Cupping?
Your massage therapist might use a technique called Cupping. Cupping is done for many reasons including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being and as a type of deep tissue massage. Vacuum cups and/or silicone cups can be used and are either placed and left for short period of time on tight areas or used to glide over an area. This brings blood flow to the area, therefore in most cases a temporary red circle or line is noted that can last for a few days, however it does not hurt.
What is an Indie Head Massage?
An Indie head massage is a great type of massage to help with headaches. The treatment involves a massage to the neck, shoulder area and face and ends with hot coconut oil massaged into the scalp.
